Calibrating the SSM 3

The Solar Scintillation Monitor is already calibrated on delivery. However, depending on the ambient conditions, it may be necessary to recalibrate it. To do this, use a screwdriver to adjust the control resistor so that the input signal is approx. 1 volt in cloudless sunlight. The sensor must be pointed directly at the sun.

Attention ! Before calibrating, I recommend that the switched-on sensor is aligned to the cloudless sun for approx. 10 minutes.

Turn the screw on the trimmer resistor with a small slotted screwdriver so that the input signal is approx. 1 Volt to 1.15 Volt. Caution During this calibration, the sensor must point directly into the sun (no clouds).
